OFFICER ROGER HOSEY GETS A TASER SHOT IN THE ASS

You never know what you can find on the Internet. For instance, did you know you can watch a video of Officer Roger Hosey with the China Grove (North Carolina) Police Department getting shot in his ass with a taser gun?
No, this is not “Brokeback Police Academy.” This unlikely and thoroughly weird video was shot in August 2005 during that police department’s taser gun certification training. It seems certification requires both knowing how to fire the taser and knowing what it is like to be shot with that weapon. Which, of course, gives new meaning to the Clintonian _expression “I feel your pain.”
Well, few people would want to feel the pain experienced in this video. It appears the cop who fired the taser at Officer Hosey jerked trigger, causing one of the taser’s probes to lodge in a part of the body where metallic objects are best not inserted. The video shows Officer Hosey falling flat to the ground, buffeted by a pair of fellow cops. Officer Hosey lies stiff as his colleagues swarm across his body to locate the taser’s probes. One probe is immediately located, but the location of the other is a mystery.
“Where dat other one go?” asks one of the officers in a thick Dixie voice that sounds like an unholy mix of Andy Griffith and Deputy Dawg.
“In his ass?” comes another voice with an equally Southern-fried texture one normally associates with the instrumental classic “Dueling Banjos.”
Whoops of laughter arise from Officer Hosey’s predicament and the first voice yells out to the person holding the video camera: “Git dat thin’ over ‘n’ git a picture of dat!”
As the videographer moves in to capture this winning moment for posterior posterity, a young woman in white wearing latex gloves shows up and fans her hands over Officer Hosey’s rear end. Either using tweezers or pliers, she manages to uncork the taser probe. After lying solid for a few more seconds, Officer Hosey suddenly comes back to life, seemingly unaware of what just happened.
As a brief documentary of how North Carolina cops happily abuse each other, this video is priceless. Though one could easily speculate Officer Hosey will no longer guffaw at certain Three Stooges films where Curly, Larry or Moe wind up getting pitchforks, knitting needles and hatpins impaled in their butts.
